Berlin School of Mind and Brain DAAD Scholarships for International Students in Germany, 2018

A number of Mind & Brain and DAAD scholarships will available to the best applicants to study at Berlin School of Mind and Brain (M&B) in Germany. This scholarship is open to all students with or without secured funding.
Depending on the applicant’s individual profile and interest, funding for the three-year program can consist of a full scholarship (from a funding agency or by the Berlin School of Mind and Brain – see below) or a research and/or teaching post with their supervisor.
The Berlin School of Mind and Brain (M&B) is an international and interdisciplinary graduate research school. It was established in 2006 and receives its funding through the Excellence Initiative (an ongoing German Federal and State Governments initiative since 2006 to promote excellent science and research at German universities), the Einstein Foundation Berlin, and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

Scholarship Description:

  • Course Level: Scholarships are available to pursue doctoral degree programme.
  • Study Subject: The central requirement for admittance to the School is your proposal for a doctoral project that was developed by yourself. All research proposals must have clear mind/brain relevance. The focus should be on the interface between the humanities and/or behavioural sciences with the neurosciences. Typical projects will investigate research questions that are of relevance to more than one discipline. The six research topics of the School pay tribute to that approach:
  • Perception, attention, and consciousness
  • Decision-making
  • Language
  • Brain plasticity and lifespan ontogeny
  • Brain disorders and mental dysfunction
  • Human sociality and the brain (social cognition)
  • Scholarship Award: Each year, the Berlin School of Mind and Brain can offer five to seven scholarships. Currently, scholarships are set at 1,350 euro/month plus funding for travel and training courses.

Management International Scholarships at University of Sheffield in UK, 2018

The University of Sheffield is offering the international scholarship to undergraduate students starting their studies in the Management School in September 2018.
The University of Sheffield is a public research university in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. It received its royal charter in 1905 as successor to the University College of Sheffield, which was established in 1897 by the merger of Sheffield Medical School (founded in 1828), Firth College (1879) and Sheffield Technical School (1884).

  • The scholarships will be awarded automatically – no application is required in the first or any subsequent years.
  • Subject to meeting the eligibility and award criteria the scholarship will be guaranteed in the first year of study. The award is applicable to each subsequent academic year of study, subject to achieving 60% or above and achieving a minimum of 120 credits in the previous academic year. This excludes any years in industry or study abroad periods.
  • The scholarship can be awarded in-conjunction with any other University of Sheffield scholarship, discount or reward as long you do not become fully funded, for tuition fee purposes, as a result of the sum of these awards and all other eligibility and award criteria are met.
  • The scholarship will take the form of a tuition fee reduction only.
  • Students must be self-funded and classified as overseas for tuition fee purposes.
  • Students must not be a sponsored student.
  • The scholarship cannot be awarded in-conjunction with any funding (full or partial) from an external sponsor, excluding a loan, which has to be paid back in full.
  • The scholarship is for full-time and part-time students only. Students studying online or via distance learning are not eligible for a scholarship.
  • Part-time students will receive the full value of a one year of scholarship split pro-rata over the duration of an equivalent single full-time academic year.
  • This scholarship is not available to students on the BA Business Management Joint Programme with SBC (course code MGTUG36).
  • The Management International Scholarship 2018 automatic scholarship cannot be awarded in-conjunction with an NCUK automatic award. The NCUK award will take precedence over the Management International Scholarship 2018.

The Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is currently accepting applications for Piet Rietveld Scholarship established by the School of Business and Economics. The scholarship covers the yearly tuition fee, and provides an allowance of € 3000 towards living costs.
The Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is a leading, innovative and growing university that is at the heart of society and actively contributes to new developments in teaching and research.

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Applicants must have received a Ph.D. in a discipline no more than five years before applying (i.e., after January 1, 2012, for the 2017-2019 cycles); if a Ph.D. has not yet been received, all work toward the degree (including dissertation defense and final dissertation editing) must be completed before starting the fellowship.

Goethe-Institut Postdoctoral Fellowship for International Students at Haus der Kunst in Germany, 2018

Applicants are invited for Goethe-Institut Postdoctoral Fellowship to pursue research focuses on global perspectives on modern and contemporary art in the second half of the 20th century and the 21stcentury. The fellowship is designed for international emerging scholars.
The aim of the fellowship is to support promising and exceptional scholar for one academic year and shall concentrate on the research for a comprehensive exhibition project on the global art historical developments of the Post-colonial era covering the period 1955 – 1980.
